There are a few times when someone on CNN says something so stupid it bears repeating. This is one of those times.
So today CNN's Rick Sanchez was trying to spark a discussion on discussing military strategy and options in Afghanistan outside the chain of command and in the public forum. So of course they showed a photo of President Obama discussing tactics with General McChrystal. The problem is that Rick then made the remark: "When I see this photo, you know, it just looks to me like it's really a one-sided conversation."
Know why? Because its a still photograph, shithead. Says nothing about the demeanor of the meeting at all. Hell, if General McChrystal had his mouth open would you say it was a one-sided conversation going the other way? No, because that doesn't support the narrative you're trying to create.
And every time something violent happens and gets heavy media coverage there's always this sideshow freak of a debate about violence in music and video games. In the interest of full disclosure, I listen to "violent music" and play these "violent games." I also am not a violent person, in spite of what the police reports may say. So it does get me a bit ticked when someone wants to push unrelated agendas in the wake of a tragedy. You don't see me running around arguing that kids would be less violent if we legalized pot, do you? Its about that related.
Checkmate.
