Hmmm...let me check the dictionary for 'Pro re nata' -- for an occasion that has arisen
Let me poll my preceptor -- "That means as needed, Hoss cat." (What I'm assuming he'd say)
But no -- it apparently makes sense to literally give us a latin phrase and acronym and ask for a contemporary meaning...but when we supply the english/medical translation of said latin phrase -- nope, that's wrong. The most logical thing you could do is wrong. Here's a hint, Papa Joe: if you're looking to ask an ambiguous question with multiple clear answers such as this, at least indicate you're looking for an organization. Not too hard.

My face when I heard the correct answer
And did anyone shift uneasily in their chair when Uncle Ralph said "What I think Mr. Burleson was struggling to get across was..."? Down boy. It at least made me a little uneasy because the subtext was seemingly "This guy is doing a pisspoor job at my old job."
Random thoughts:
The lab personnel probably unanimously think I'm retarded now, and yes that is the goal. When Dr. Mac said (on Wednesday in lab) she was going to check herself into Central Baptist Thursday morning if she wasn't already there I innocently replied "Are you sick? Is something wrong?"...She just kinda glanced at her pregnant belly and gave me the "you're special aren't you?" look.
Lab has kept alive the 3 semester streak of pisspoor tests. When a certain professor's section requires a 48 inch LCD screen over my head to give me all of the clarifications on questions that I need, I think they should declare a mulligan and just write a new poorly written exam.
Awesome:
