Zegerid -- Platinum Prilosec

So last night as I was watching the NBA finals, I noticed “The Black Mamba” was mentioned in one of the commercials. For those of you that don’t know, this is the nickname that Kobe Bryant gave himself. I’m not really sure that I have to even say that that is douchy and preposterous, because it’s fairly obvious. I’m just sayin’ – I take the ones that others give me willingly, and they include: hamdog, hamdaddy, hammer, hammy, Dr. Hammy, hamster, and hammer jammer. Okay, so maybe those are just some of the names that Comrade Whitesell gave me, but you get the point.

In terms of “stupid drugs you should never dispense,” I’m wondering how many of you are interning at places that carry Zegerid – the miracle GERD-stopper. If you don’t, I’ll go ahead and spoil the ending – it’s a combination drug of omeprazole and sodium bicarb. That’s not completely retarded I guess, as the sodium bicarb helps until the prilosec kicks in – but it costs a patient $158.86 for a cash zegerid prescription. That’d be run of the mill if it was an awesome drug that took years of research, but its not. They took Prilosec (which is OTC) and added sodium bicarb (which is OTC and in *Baking Soda*) and called it an Rx product and now sell it for unbelievable cash (dollar dollar bill, y’all). I’m just saying – wholesale prilosec is $8 or so for 20 pills, and baking soda is dimes-and-nickels cheap, but they sell it for $158.86 and MD’s will write prescriptions for it. I’m just saying – hand over the Rx pad, dumbass.

Other than mild applause, I have to say that it wouldn’t necessarily be a good idea to house them in Floyd County either. I’m just saying – we need the jobs/money, and you’d be hardpressed to find many other places farther from anything worth attacking. Not that an ‘attack’ is a real concern given that none of these tards will be able to escape any decent prison – but it’s a necessary selling point for the NIMBY(notinmybackyard)tards
